Terms of Service

Last updated: 25 July 2026

These terms form an agreement between you and Brandon Flick covering your use of FeatherVault.

The service

FeatherVault backs up and restores Pterodactyl and Pelican game-server panels. It captures a server's files and the configuration that defines it as a versioned manifest, and can replay that onto a panel you connect. Backups are written to a storage bucket that you provide and control.

Your account

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including actions taken by members you invite into a shared vault. Tell us promptly at support@feathervault.io if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction, and you must have authority to connect the panels and storage you connect.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor. Fees are stated on the pricing page. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-used periods except where the law requires it.

If we change our prices we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the change affects your subscription.

Your data and your backups

You retain all rights to your data. You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service on your behalf — connecting to the panels you configure and writing to the bucket you nominate.

Backups are stored in your own bucket, and verifying them is your responsibility. We take reasonable care, but no backup system is infallible: panels change, credentials expire, storage providers fail. You should test restores periodically and keep independent copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. FeatherVault is not a substitute for your own disaster-recovery planning.

Deleting your FeatherVault account does not delete backups already written to your bucket. Removing those is up to you.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use FeatherVault to:

  • connect panels or storage you are not authorised to access, or attempt to access another user's vault;
  • store or distribute unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
  • probe, overload, or interfere with the service or the infrastructure behind it, including circumventing plan limits;
  • point notification webhooks at hosts you do not control in order to probe internal networks.

We may suspend an account that breaches these terms, and will tell you why unless doing so would be unlawful or unsafe.

Availability

We work to keep FeatherVault available and reliable, but the service is provided without an uptime guarantee unless we have agreed one with you separately in writing. Maintenance, third-party outages, and problems with panels or storage providers can all interrupt it.

Termination

You can stop using FeatherVault and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may terminate or suspend access for a material breach of these terms, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss or corruption of data.

If you are a consumer, you keep all rights the law gives you that cannot be excluded, and nothing here affects them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give you notice by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of any mandatory rules of your own country.
